This is a physics class project of form 8 R A of the Adolf-Reichwein-Schule(ARS) in Heusenstamm.
In this project, students investigate how to recognize and limit standby and other load losses in the household.
Which is the procedure of the students who work under the direction of the head teacher of the ARS, Mr. Matthias Lippert:
-
Developping physical conditions: concept of energy, power definitions, units,
-
Detecting operating states of electrical devices: continuous operation, standby, control operations, maintenance operations, normal operation,
-
Measuring the energy consumption of electrical devices in the households of pupils and recording it in a table.
-
Calculating the average energy costs per year and the environmental impact (CO2 emissions),
-
Measures to reduce load losses.
-
Creation of a PowerPoint presentation on the project,
-
Publication of project results in the press.
Based on these guidelines, our Twin Cities can run their own projects on this program. Seems interesting to compare the final results from Belgium, France, England and Poland.
This project will be presented by the students as part of an overall presentation in 2010 in Malle, with the participation of members of the Commission of the European Communities and the media.
